I found this Halloween Pez thing recently, and it completely reminded me of Steven "Ribs" Weissman's character "Lil' Bloody", from "Yikes!" comics fame from Alternative Press, copyright S. Weissman, all rights reserved, etc. Fantagraphics collected and published Weissman's Barrack Hussein Obama weekly comic in 2012, A.D., I really liked it. He's a favorite indie comics creator of mine, going years back. He's done some great stuff with Alternative Press, Last Gasp, Fantagraphics, and this is just a coincidence that Pez put out this round-headed kid Dracula this season, I think. Or was it? I would sell my unborn future children into white or off-white slavery for a Kid Medusa Pez dispenser. Or the Lil' Tinstars, X-ray Spence, Pull-a-part Boy, all those great "Yikes!" Tykes.
"Ribs" was awesome enough to reply to a fan letter I sent him years ago, with stickers and sketches, and fun stuff, and I had done a fanzine thing about him for his strip in "Measles" about the Kid Firechief- "Measles" was this great alt-kids anthology by the much-missed Kim Thompson, with contributions from Gilbert Hernandez and Louis Trondheim, among many other greats. It was like "Zero Zero" for those of us that wanted to pass on a love of comics to the younger folks, I loved every issue.
Didn't mean to underline past the book title, whoops!
